When I have set my Global settings on the NK Studio I try to write these settings to the controller and I get a message that says "Failed to Open MIDI port." And indicates port 0.
Huh? Please help.
Dear Paul, I got around that by clicking the set MIDI manually option in the Global editor (even though it suggests not to). I'm still struggling with the MIDI timeout, if anyone has any suggestions. Up all night and still can't get the thing to work!
I will have to get substantial immersions thru Korg's tutorials before to make comments.

Hi, i have the same problems, "failed to open midi port or" "timeout connection", i tried to set korg editor to detect manually or automatically, used korg utility to uninstall midi ports not used, manually removed all the midi ports on the windows registry and reinstalled from scratch the drivers... I think the nanoKONTROL can't to be used alternatively whit usb cable and bt connection. If i install bt drivers they work, but if i add usb driver the nanokontrol is recognized but midi connection fail. The nanoKontrol consunes a lot of battery so i need to alternate usb/bt mode immediately, how can i solve?
Hi, I've got the NanoKontrol Studio correctly connected to my 9.7 inch iPad Pro, GarageBand recognizes it, but none of the keys have any effect. It works fine on my Mac Pro and Logic Pro X though. Am I missing anything? A setup maybe?
Thanks for your support.
While Ableton Live 9 being listed here, and the promotional image also show Ableton Live on Korg Website,
I found no easy way to use Korg nanoKontrol Studio with Ableton Live 9, while working with Korg Gadget and Logic Pro X is perfect.
Could anyone tell me how?
It works fine with Live 10. I rang their support guys and they answered the question immediately. It is in fact in their documentation. Here's how it worked:
1. You need to power it off with usb plugged in and the system in standby.
2. Press the Scene button down and the right arrow (underneath where it says Marker) together.
3. Power it on using the usb button.
4. Then open ableton --> Preferences --> Link/Midi
5. Under a new control surface Select "MackieControl".
6. Under input select "nanoKONTROL Studio (CTRL)"
7. Under Output select "nanoKONTROL Studio (CTRL)"
Now in Ableton it should work If not, then try ringing their support team on the contact us section.
I need a easier way to map the Korg nanoKONTROL Studio to studio one 3. Is there any templates i can use? I Need help. I don't want to sell it for less then what i got it for.
I need help !! I am using NK Studio with pro tools 1920. the faders on the Nano move the faders in the Pro tools DAW, tracks channels 1 thru 8 but will not work on tracks 9 thru 16 then works again from tracks 17 thru 24 then stops working again for tracks 25 thru 32 and continues on like this . Can anyone tell me how I can get the faders on the Nano to move all my faders in Pro tools with out loosing control after every 8 group of faders .
Hello

No hay modo de conectar nanokontrol2 con Garageband. Probé con el plugin que ofrecen y nada. No hay modo alguno.
MacOS Catalina 10.15.5 Garageband 10.3.4

I am having the worst luck trying to set up my nanoKontrol2 to work with FL studio 20.
I've followed all the instructions but I just can't seem to get it to work. if anyone can help, id greatly appreciate it.
I'm also not sure where I can find the CC codes of FL studio to even begin manually mapping them with the Kontrol editor.
Despite this Pre-Sales FAQ shows support for Cubase only through version 8, I was able to get it connected properly in Cubase 10. The instructions however here AND even in Steinberg's Remote Control PDF documentation still shows the old menu choice for adding the Mackie MCU Pro control as a Device. The new menu choices are now Studio => Studio Setup where you then click on the big + sign at the top left of that dialog box allowing you to add the Mackie as a device. From then on the directions are the same.
At first I was quite concerned finding this FAQ stating Cubase through v8 was supported after initially struggling to get the Studio to work because the FAQ leads one to believe that versions of Cubase after v8 might NOT be supported. It would behoove Korg to update both this presales FAQ AND add a supplement or revise the manual to properly support setting up Cubase as a DAW with this product.
Can anyone confirm as to whether the Kontrol Studio panel works with the newer versions of Pro Tools? The aforementioned list only names version 12, which unless I'm mistaken ended with 2018.
It does NOT work. I managed to get Ableton to detect it once, then it failed to recognize the device as soon as I restarted my pc / unplugged the nanokontrol device.
I'm highly disappointed. Korg should work on more stable drivers before releasing new device. You can't justify crappy device support just by putting a "This might not work with all computer satsfying these requirements" notice. That's not how it works. People PAY for your products.
so basicly i throw the money and time into the bin. Ok no more anything from korg
Hello,
Can anybody confirm when in Assignable Mode, how many banks of controllers, i.e knobs and faders are available per scene? For instance, faders 1-8, hit the next bank to get faders 9-16?
The only driver for windows listed in the web is for windows 10. Can i use windows 10 driver for windows 11?
NOT WORKING IN LOGIC 10.7.7 using M1 mac Monterey OS !!
Why do I keep buying hardware which promises to work with Logic and then it does not !!
If there is a known issue it should be made clear before people buy this rubbish.
I have followed the installation instructions to the letter and it does not work. Waste of time and energy.
KORG ... you have such a bad reputation for this sort of thing ... if you sorted it then you would not have such a bad reputation !!!! Stop wasting peoples time !!!!
So far, I've been able to use Ableton Live, Reaper, Audacity, SoundBridge, Bandlab and Traction Waveform 12 Pro with my Nanokey Kontrol and Studio interfaces. Although I will say that the Korg M1 VST is a royal pain in the arse as it is constantly trying to be registered when KORG USA had to send me the file directly as none of the Bundle software offered would allow me to register it. KORG Customer Service is non-existent for any real issues you would otherwise expect to get immediate customer care.
Please, I'm trying to use the Nanocontrol Studio Mobile Midi controller surface with the UAD Luna. Everything works, except the LUNA faders that don't respond when I move the faders on the Nano Control interface. Please, is there anything I can do?
