Due to a Windows 11 update released in or after January 2026, the Windows MIDI functionality has been updated, and the KORG USB-MIDI Driver is no longer supported. If you are using Windows 11 version 24H2 or later, this article does not apply to your system, so please refrain from referring to it.
Note: The following instructions apply when using the KORG USB-MIDI Driver on Windows 10.
IMPORTANT: This article does not apply to the wavestate, modwave, opsix, or multi/poly, since these instruments do not use the KORG USB-MIDI Driver.
If you have previously connected a MIDI device to your computer, the KORG USB-MIDI Driver may not recognize it.
When a MIDI device is connected to the computer, it is registered as a MIDI device with the computer.
Devices used by the KORG USB-MIDI Driver need to be registered within the first 10 devices.
■ Use the KORG MIDI Driver Uninstall Utility included with KORG USB-MIDI Driver to check the registered MIDI devices.
(e.g.) When using microKEY-25 with KORG USB-MIDI Driver.
1. Remove the microKEY-25 from your computer.
2. From the Windows menu, select "Uninstall KORG USB-MIDI Device".
3. KORG MIDI Driver Uninstall Utility starts up.
Pressing the Next button displays the MIDI devices registered in the computer.
Confirm that the MIDI device you want to use is registered within the first 10 (midi0 ~ midi9).
*The displayed MIDI devices will vary depending on the PC environment.
*Windows creates a driver for each USB port of the PC, even for the same MIDI device. If you connect your MIDI device to multiple USB ports, that device name will be registered multiple times. Your MIDI device must be registered from midi0 to midi9 with the USB port you are using.
4-1. microKEY-25 is registered within the first 10 (midi0 ~ midi9) and will work correctly.
4-2. microKEY-25 is not registered within the first 10 (midi0 ~ midi9) and may not work correctly.
5.If there are more than 10 registered MIDI devices, delete unused devices among those registered within the first 10 (midi0 ~ midi9).
6. Connect microKEY-25 to your computer.
7. Start the KORG MIDI Driver Uninstall Utility again, and confirm that microKEY-25 is registered within the first 10 (midi0 ~ midi9).
8. Restart your computer.

I have stopped buying any Korg hardware.
I have the same problem with my M50. Everytime i opened the Plugin Editor it say no Hardware connected. Please Korg solve this Problem it is so annyoing,
So has many bad reviews will lead to action? I reached out to Korg about the midi driver. They sent me a list of you tube videos about Win 10 fixes. I have Win 11. Is that the new definition of tech support, look it up on YouTube and not interact with the customer.
Maybe some of these you tubers can develop a working driver?
This was my first (last?) Korg purchase.
I managed to fix the problem in Win11 and create a short video on how to do it, feel free to contact me if you need any help https://youtu.be/t1C7LbUO270
Thanks, David. The video is helpful.
I've bought a Korg SQ64 - in general I like it - when it's working.
I never thought when buying it, that it has such a bad usb midi implemention - even 10 years old devices are working flawless, but Korgs won't.
When using it with Generic Drivers most of the time the outputs won't work - inputs are working.
When using it with Korg's drivers - for sure only working with the registry hack - Midi Ports are not found when using WinRT Midi.
Finally, Korg should be ashamed to have the worst drivers (implementation) on the market and a non-working implementation at all - unuseable!
Anyone still struggling with this, uninstall all USB midi devices using the Korg uninstall application shown above. Then plug in all Korg devices before anything else, so they get installed within the first 10 devices.
If you want to get Korg's attention on this:
GO AND COMMENT ON THEIR FACEBOOK POSTS ABOUT THEIR HORRIBLE DRIVER IN WINDOWS:
https://www.facebook.com/KORGusa/
and instagram.
If we keep harrassing them on social media they'll have to do something.
I had another issue where the installed Prologue driver showed up as 'corrupted' in the Uninstall USB Midi driver list. I uninstalled and reinstalled many times and no luck and then found someone's post on reddit who said ignore the 'corrupted' label if it's working properly. Then I discovered it was working properly even though it said 'corrupted'.
So it stopped working, I discovered it said 'corrupted' which I had never seen in the last 3 years. I uninstalled USB Midi driver, reinstalled it, then it still says 'corrupted'. But it still works.
Hope this helps someone.
It seems Korg may have updated the USB MIDI driver to maintain it's position in the list so it stays in the first 10 devices.
Hello, I have the Volca Sample 2 with firmware 1.02 and I cannot connect it via USB to Windows 10 64 bit or Mac OS Catalina 10.15.7, I have tried everything and there is no solution. thank you
An updated USB driver was posted recently. Have only had a quick chance to install and try a connection, and my DAW recognized a device despite being on page 2, so looking promising.
I noticed the Pa5X is not listed as one of the models covered by the current Windows 10 driver. Will there be a Windows driver for this model soon?
corrupted (korg microkey2-25 air ... please how do I fix this issue, why does it say corrupted. my keyboard can't be found on my DAW, and I don't have the issue of it not being on the first page.
Iyanuoluwa Oguntade -My Prologue says it's corrupted but it still works.
Try reinstalling the driver and see if your DAW sees the keyboard even though it's corrupted.
I tried a few times and finally it worked even though it still says 'corrupted'
