Uninstalling the KORG USB-MIDI Driver on Windows 11

If the MIDI port of a KORG MIDI device is not visible or cannot be opened, please check the following:

  1. Right-click the Start button in Windows and select “Installed apps.”
  2. Find “KORG USB-MIDI Driver Tools for Windows” in the list. Click the “More options” button on the right and select “Uninstall.”
  3. Disconnect all KORG products connected via USB.
  4. Right-click the Start button again and select “Device Manager.”
  5. From the View menu, enable “Show hidden devices.”
  6. In the device list, click “Sound, video and game controllers,” then right-click the KORG device name shown there.
    (Example: nanoKEY Studio)
  7. Select “Uninstall device” from the menu.
  8. If the dialog box displays “Attempt to remove the driver for this device,” check the box.
  9. Click [Uninstall] to proceed.
  10. Disconnect and reconnect the KORG device, then follow step 6) and check the Driver tab.
If the Driver Provider is shown as Microsoft, the device is operating with the standard Windows MIDI driver.

NOTE: Due to Windows specifications, even after removing the KORG USB-MIDI Driver, an older cached version of the KORG driver may be reapplied automatically.
If the Provider is shown as KORG Inc., repeat steps 6)–10).

NOTE: The MIDI driver settings must be configured for each USB port individually. If you connect the MIDI device to a different USB port, please perform steps 6)–10) for that port as well.

  11. Restart your PC.
