Recording a DAW Track with the 700S Filter

Please use:

  • microAUDIO v1.01 or later

  • microAUDIO EDITOR v1.1.0 or later

Example:

This example shows how to record a specific track in a DAW with the 700S Filter of microAUDIO applied.

Setup

  1. Connect microAUDIO to your computer.

  2. Launch microAUDIO EDITOR.

  3. Open the SETTINGS tab and configure the following:

    • Set FILTER ROUTING to USB

    • Set the Channel to USB 3–4

  4. In the SETTINGS tab, configure the following:

    • Set LOOPBACK to OFF

    • Set HEADPHONE OUT to BOTH

  5. Click the TRANSMIT button.

DAW Setup

  1. Launch your DAW.

  2. Create Audio Track 1 and import the audio data of the song.
    Set the audio output to microAUDIO channels 3–4.

  3. Create Audio Track 2 and set the audio input to microAUDIO channels 3–4.

  4. Arm Track 2 for recording and start recording.

The audio recorded on Track 2 will include the 700S Filter applied by microAUDIO.

 

Ableton Live

  1. From the Live menu, open
    Live > Settings > Audio, and select microAUDIO for both Input Device and Output Device.

  2. In Input Config and Output Config, enable channels 1, 2, 3, and 4.

  3. Create Audio Track 1 and import the audio data of the song.
    Set Audio To to Ext. Out 3 / 4 (microAUDIO channels 3–4).

  4. Create Audio Track 2.
    Set Audio From to Ext. In 3 / 4 (microAUDIO channels 3–4).

    The output from Track 1 will now be routed to Track 2.

    *To monitor the audio being recorded, set Monitor to In.

  5. Start recording on Track 2.

 

Cubase

  1. From the Cubase menu, open
    Studio > Studio Setup > Audio System, and select microAUDIO as the ASIO Driver.

  2. Add 3–4Ch In as an Audio Input.
    Add 3–4Ch Out as an Audio Output.

  1. Create Audio Track 1 and import the audio data of the song.
    In Routing, set Out to 3–4ch.
  2. Create Audio Track 2.
    In Routing, set In to 3–4ch.

    The output from Track 1 will now be routed to Track 2.

    *To monitor the audio being recorded, click the speaker icon to turn monitoring ON.

  3. Start recording on Track 2.

 

 

Logic Pro

  1. From the Logic Pro menu, open
    Logic Pro > Settings > Audio, and select microAUDIO for both Input Device and Output Device.

  2. Create Audio Track 1 and import the audio data of the song.
    Set Out to Output 3–4.

  3. Create Audio Track 2.
    Set In to Input 3–4.

    The output from Track 1 will now be routed to Track 2.

    *To monitor the audio being recorded, press the “I” button to turn Input Monitoring ON.

  4. Start recording on Track 2.
