Please open the controller's Settings Screen from the Nintendo Switch HOME screen, and confirm that the controller has been recognized.
The Mode Selection Screen, Option Screen, Save/Load Function, etc., only accept input from Controller 1 in order to prevent errors caused by accidental simultaneous input.
When using in portable mode, if Controller 1 is connected wirelessly, then any controllers connected to the Nintendo Switch itself will not work. Please either use the wirelessly connected controller, or disconnect it.
If you are using multiple Joy-Con, confirm the at the Joy-Con's L/R combination is correct.
