The quick answer is:
- For sounds in the ARP 2600 instrument plug-in, make sure that you add a Collection name for any sounds that you save. Any Collection name will do.
- For sounds in the ARP 2600 FX plug-in, make sure that you tag them with the Audio In Category.
Alternatively, go to the Settings windows (using the menu in the upper right corner of the ARP 2600 window) and set the Sound Browser preference to Show all sounds at startup.
More information: the Sound Browser preference
There are two ARP 2600 plug-ins: an instrument plug-in named ARP 2600, and an effects plug-in named ARP 2600 FX.
The ARP 2600 includes an audio input, accessed via the PREAMPLIFIER. The input is available in the standalone application and the ARP 2600 FX plug-in, but not in the ARP 2600 instrument plug-in. Sounds which use the audio input should be tagged with the Audio In Category. Additionally, factory sounds which use the audio input are in the ARP 2600 FX Collection.
Based on these tags, the instrument plug-in and standalone application can default to hiding sounds which use the audio input, and the effect plug-in can default to showing only sounds which use the audio input. The Sound Browser preference enables or disables the default filtering. Regardless of this setting, you can still change the Category and Collection filtering manually after startup.
The options are:
Show all sounds at startup: This shows all sounds, regardless of their Category and Collection settings.
Show only “Audio In” Category at startup: This option is available for the ARP 2600 FX plug-in. At startup, only sounds in the Audio In Category will be shown.
Hide “ARP 2600 FX” Collection at startup: This option is available for the ARP 2600 instrument plug-in and the standalone application. At startup, sounds in the ARP 2600 FX Collection will be hidden; sounds in all other Collections will be shown. Note: this will also hide sounds which are not tagged with a Collection name.
Finally, note that this preference applies to the standalone application, but only the first time that it is run. After that, the browser filtering settings are retained across restarts, so that you can always resume where you left off.
