How to use Keystage with Cakewalk

  1. Connect the Keystage to PC and press SETTINGS button to enter Settings mode. Turn the volume knob 2 to change the Controller Mode to "Cakewalk". Press SETTINGS button again to return to normal mode.
  2. Start Cakewalk.
  3.  Click on "Edit -> Preferences" in the Cakewalk Menu to open the Preferences window, and then click on "MIDI -> Devices" in the Preferences window.
    • Check "Keystage x KBD/CTRL" (x is a number) and "Keystage x DAW IN" under "Inputs" list.cakewalk_midi_device_in_en.png
    • Check "Keystage x CTRL" and "Keystage x DAW OUT" under "Outputs" list.cakewalk_midi_device_out_en.png
  4. Click on "MIDI -> Control Surfaces" in the Preferences window, and then click on "Add new Controller/Surface" button in the upper right of the window.cakewalk_control_surface_add_en.png 
    • Set the Controller/Surface to "Mackie Control", Input Port to "Keystage x DAW IN", and Output Port to "Keystage x DAW OUT" and click the OK button.
  5. If you want to synchronize Keystage's arpeggiator to Cakewalk's tempo, click "Project -> MIDI" in the Preferences window and check "Keystage x CTRL" (where x is a number) in "MIDI Clock Output Port" and "MIDI Start/Stop/Continue/Clock Send".cakewalk_midi_clock_en.png
