Sample Builder release notes

Version 1.2.7

  • This release introduces compatibility with the new modwave mkII, in addition to the original modwave.
  • Previously, when a Bank exceeded the available RAM or storage space, the "SEND BANK" button was disabled as intended, but the Send Bank menu command and Cmd+T shortcut were still enabled, so that an excessively large Bank might be sent. This has now been fixed.
  • After deleting or adding Multisamples to the bank, the list now returns to a fully deselected state.

Version 1.2.6

  • When auditioning samples, the playback audio quality is now improved when running at 44.1 kHz and 88.2 kHz sample rates. This involved realtime playback only; loading, editing, and saving were not affected.
  • The sample rate setting is now persistent. Previously, the sample rate was always reset to 48k at startup.

Version 1.2.4

  • This release introduces compatibility with the new wavestate SE and wavestate mkII, in addition to the original wavestate.
  • AIFF files are now supported, in addition to WAV.
  • You can now open the latest version of the manual on the web via a new menu command, "Help > Open Online Manual."
  • The new command "File>Import Audio Files As Multisamples" creates a separate Multisample for each imported WAV or AIFF file. You can also invoke this by dragging audio files into the Bank window (as opposed to the Multisample window).
  • The new command "File > Consolidate Bank Files" creates duplicate copies of all of the bank’s WAV and AIFF files and Multisample files, and places them in a new folder hierarchy. The original files are not changed or moved.
  • New level meters make it easier to balance sample levels.
  • You can now check for updates within the application, either manually via the new menu command "Help>Check for Updates…," or automatically via a preference setting.
  • The Category list is now alphabetized.
  • If Multisamples or WAV/AIFF files can’t be located, a new Search function will search through all of the sub-folders within a selected folder.
  • Previously, in very rare conditions, a USB connection timeout at just the wrong moment could result in a reduction of the available disk space. This has now been fixed.
  • If there are multiple missing files when opening a bank, error messages will now appear properly instead of cascading.
  • Previously, clicks could occur in very short samples (<8192 samples in length). This has now been fixed.
  • Auto-mapping of imported samples now ensures that the zone top is never below the zone bottom. Previously, this could happen when multiple samples had the same original key. Now, these are forced to be adjacent.

Version 1.1.0

  • New “Save Bank for Plug-in” command in File menu allows User Sample Banks to be loaded in the wavestate native and modwave native plug-ins.
  • External MIDI note activity is now shown on the on-screen keyboard.

Version 1.0.2

  • Location of missing files is improved.
  • Move, resize, and maximize functions are improved.
  • Previously, Multisamples with many Zones might have resulted in an “Unable to read” error. This has now been fixed.
  • Previously, the "Storage" size in the Bank editor might have erroneously shown “0 TB.” This has now been fixed.
  • On Windows, the installed shortcut to the Sample Builder application is now correct.
  • On Windows, a warning is now displayed on startup if the Bonjour Service is not running.

Version 1.0.0

  • Initial version.
