macOS Sequoia: Korg System Updater can't connect to hardware

macOS Sequoia introduces permissions settings for network access for individual applications. If set incorrectly, this can block the System Updater from accessing the instrument. To check this:

  1. Quit the Korg System Updater.
  2. Open System Settings.
  3. Select "Privacy & Security" and then the sub-section "Local Network."
  4. You will see entries to enable or disable different applications. Find the entry for the Korg System Updater.
  5. If it is disabled, turn it on, and then open the Korg System Updater; it should now be able to connect to the hardware.
