- PATCH Panel
Just as modular synthesizers such as the Korg MS Series, the iDS10 provides a PATCH Panel for connecting various modulation sources to various destinations through the use of patch cords. Simply touch on one of the Source jacks and drag your finger to one of the Destination jacks to create a virtual patch cord.
1. MODULATION DESTINATION JACKS
Each of the Patch Panel modulation destination jacks is equipped with an attenuating input, so you can use the knob to control just how much signal is being received. The Modulation destinations are:
VCO Pitch IN : Controls the Pitch of both Oscillators
VCO1 Pitch IN : Controls the Pitch of VCO1
VCO2 Pitch IN : Controls the Pitch of VCO2
VCO1 PWM IN : Controls the Pulse Width of VCO1 when the Square Wave Form has been selected.
CUTOFF IN : Controls the Filter Cutoff Frequency
VCA IN : Controls the Level of the VCA
2. MODULATION SOURCE JACKS
The Modulation Generator (MG) is often referred to as the LFO, or Low-Frequency Oscillator. Depending on its destination, the MG can provide vibrato (PITCH); Tremolo (VCA); or Wah-Wah (Filter) effects. In addition to the four wave forms provided by the MG, the EG and VCO2 can also be used as modulation sources.
TRI : Modulation Generator (MG) Triangle Wave
SAW : Modulation Generator (MG) Sawtooth Wave
SQUARE : Modulation Generator (MG) Square Wave
S & H (Sample & Hold) : Modulation Generator (MG) Random Waveform
EG : The Time-variable control signal created by the EG can be used as a modulation source
VCO2 : The output of Oscillator 2 can be used as a modulation source
- EFFECTS
Effects add depth and motion to the sound. There are five effects available, plus an Off position creating no effect. There are two editable parameters for each effect—often related the time or rate of the effect, plus the depth, regeneration, or intensity.
EFFECT : Choose either DELAY, HALL, ROOM, (all reverbs); CHO/FLG (Chorus/Flanger); EQ (Equalization); or OFF (no Effect).
EDIT 1 : Use this knob to control the first of the Effect’s editable parameters.
EDIT 2 : Use this knob to control the second of the Effect’s editable parameters.
- KEYBOARD
To make the most of your performance, you can play the keyboard using a variety of scales, in any key. In addition, you can specify the visible area of the keyboard, and the keyboards range.
SCALE : Press the SCALE button to access the Keyboard functions. You can select the scale type from the list.
KEY : Here you can select the root note of the scale (root note).
OCT POSITION (Octave Position) : This parameter allows you to specify the pitch of the keyboard in Octave units.
OCT RANGE (Octave Range) : This parameter allows you to specify the playing range of the keyboard.
SCALE STEP : There is no definition for this function!
+, – BUTTONS : These buttons can shift the pitch of the keyboard in Octave units.
KAOSS : Press the KAOSS button to access the KAOSS PAD functions. You can select the scale type from the list.
TYPE : When TYPE is chose, the X-Axis controls the NOTE and the Y-Axis control the GATE.
ASSIGN : When ASSIGN is chosen, you can chose the parameter controlled by each Axis.
X-ASSIGN : This function allows you to select the parameter controlled by the X-Axis.
Y-ASSIGN : This function allows you to select the parameter controlled by the Y-Axis
