VOICE (VOCODER) Parameters

Press the VOICE button to access the sound creation and editing parameters of the Vocoder.

  1. VOCAL parameters
    DISPLAY :
    The display provides a visual representation of the waveform.
    TEXT : When TEXT is selected, you can type the words to be spoken directly into the TEXT BOX.
    MIC : When MIC is selected, you can form the words yourself using the microphone. Use the REC (Record) button to record your speech.

 

  1. VOCODER parameters

    VOCODER PITCH PARAMETERS:

    PORTAMENTO : Portamento produces a continuous glide in pitch between notes; this knob controls the portamento time.
    VIBRATO : Vibrato can be added to the Vocoder sound; use the SPEED and DEPTH knobs to specify the frequency and intensity, respectively.
    MIC : When MIC is selected, you can form the words yourself using the microphone. Use the REC (Record) button to record your speech.

    VOCODER CARRIER PARAMETERS:
    NOISE : This knob controls the amount of noise added to the signal.
    WAVE : The Carrier wave can use either a square or sawtooth wave. Use this switch to make your selection.
    CONTROL : This knob offers manual control of the Carrier wave shape.

    OTHER VOCODER PARAMETERS:
    FORMANT : The Formant knob controls specific filtering parameters that determine the overall tone of the Vocoder sound.
    RESONANCE : Changing the setting of the Resonance knob can affect the clarity and character of the Vocoder sound.
    LEVEL : This knob adjusts the output level of the Vocoder sound.
    DRIVE : Raise the DRIVE control to add some edge or overdrive to the vocoder sound.

 

  1. VOICE EFFECTS

    Effects add depth and motion to the Voice sound. There are five effects available, plus an Off position creating no effect. There are two editable parameters for each effect—often related the time or rate of the effect, plus the depth, regeneration, or intensity.

    EFFECT : Choose either DELAY, HALL, ROOM, (all reverbs); CHO/FLG (Chorus/Flanger); EQ (Equalization); or OFF (no Effect).

    EDIT 1 : Use this knob to control the first of the Effect’s editable parameters.
    EDIT 2 : Use this knob to control the second of the Effect’s editable parameters.
